Hello Jewish Knights!

I hope you are all enjoying your first day of classes! I wanted to take the time to tell you all about our awesome Welcome Week activities that start TODAY!

Yes, we all know the sad news that Maggie Moo’s has closed on campus, but that won’t stop us from having our ice cream! The ice cream social is STILL ON and will be held outside where Maggie Moo’s used to be (by the Arena). We will be selling our own ice cream for $1 (the same price as it always is) and having a great time!

Next, with the Fall semester here, why not get into the spirits? Come on out to Hillel’s Welcome Back BBQ at Lake Claire! Not only will there be lots of FREE FOOD, but also fun under the sun! Everyone is invited so please bring your friends!

Lastly, how about attending our world famous Bagel Brunch?? Where else can you get free bagels, lox, cream cheese, cookies, and drinks at noon on a Sunday? Only if you come to the Student Union (Room TBA) on August 29th from noon – 2 PM! Come on out to enjoy the food, fun, and music! Be sure to bring your friends! Come early because the lox go fast!

Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity

The Nu Delta Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity was founded here at UCF in 1997, with the aim of bringing an aspect to Greek Life that has not previously existed here: a Jewish Fraternity. Since then, our brothers have constantly performed and outperformed themselves in an attempt to become the best Fraternity here at the University of Central Florida.

AEPi was founded to provide opportunities for Jewish men seeking the best possible college and fraternity experience. We have maintained the integrity of our purpose by strengthening our ties to the Jewish community and serving as a link between high school and post-college career life.

What do you love about Hillel?
Hillel gives me the perfect outlet to express my Jewish identity, not only on campus, but also in the “outside world.” It’s my Jewish home away from my normally hectic life! I have wanted to become involved in Hillel since I was young, and I am so thrilled to be on the Executive Cabinet with so many talented people!

What do you like to do besides Hillel stuff?
Aside from Hillel, I love to DJ, create websites, work on 3D art and graphic design, read, and spend as much time with friends as possible!

What has been your favorite Hillel event?
I LOVED the Trialogue! It was a wonderful experience to see Jews, Muslims, and Christians all interacting and talking about their religions freely.

Do you have a favorite Jewish food?
All of it!! From falafel to schnitzel to latkes and more!

What do you love about Hillel?
Hillel is my “home away from home.” It has not only allowed me to become more acclimated to campus life especially as a new student at UCF but has allowed me to form great friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Hillel has done so much for me in this regard, and I am very proud to be a new part of the Executive Board to better allow new students to gain the same opportunity as well as to promote my love for Judaism.

What do you like to do besides Hillel stuff?
Besides my active participation with Hillel, I am also a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Phi Sigma Eta Honor Society, and currently work in the College of Education Dean’s Office.I also love to spend time with my friends and family, play tennis, read, and travel.

What has been your favorite Hillel event?
My favorite Hillel event is definitely the Jewish Wedding, there is always such a great turnout and it’s a lot of fun!

Do you have a favorite Jewish food?
Falafel and hummus !

It provides for me a safe place to express Judaism in my own personal way, while meeting Jewish friends and having fun!

What do you like to do besides Hillel stuff?
Outside of Hillel, I like to read, listen to and play music, dance, and knit.

Israel Frenzy!

What do you love about Hillel?
I love Hillel because I LOVE Jews, and I like to make connections with other people who have the same morals and ideals as I do! I also like that I get to practice my religion in college, when many people often forget about their religious roots.

What do you like to do besides Hillel stuff?
I love to read! I also like to hang out with my friends, watch Glee over and over again, sing showtunes at random points in time, dance (terribly), and volunteer!

What has been your favorite Hillel event?
I like all of them equally

Do you have a favorite Jewish food?
My favorite Jewish food is BAGELS! But no lox. Or cream cheese.

What do you love about Hillel?
I love Hillel because I can meet new people, get involved Jewishly (is that a word?), and celebrate Jewish holidays with other Jewish students that want to learn and be involved.

What do you like doing besides Hillel stuff?
Outside of Hillel, I work for UCF as a Resident Assistant. I like to read Civil War History and Jewish History books. I also love to watch the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers when I can.

What is your favorite Hillel event?
“I kinda like ‘em all, I guess.” I love “Office Space.” But in all seriousness, Shabbat services probably stick out for me the most!

Favorite Jewish Food?
Brisket, but it’s much better on Channukkahh with latkes
